"The mall is not the rice police."

So apparently the Chinese food restaurant in the local mall food court got an exclusivity arrangement written into their lease making them the only vendor allowed to sell "white rice (boiled and steamed)". This was fine for awhile, until the Japanese and Indian places moved in.

Now they're all engaged in a legal battle over the differences between the rice each one serves.

The Chinese food place says no one else gets to serve rice.

The Japanese place says they "parboil" their rice, so it's not a violation.

And the Indian place serves basmati rice, so they've already been dismissed as a defendant. Because it's yellow.

Read more about the silliness here.
