Playbill reports that Kevin Kline will play the Cook, opposite Meryl Streep, in the Public Theater's production of Mother Courage this summer. Kline replaces the previously announced Christoper Walken in the role.
The Public says, "Walken left the production 'due to scheduling conflicts.'"
If by "scheduling conflicts" you mean "lack of cowbell".
